Game crashes, lose of save file.

During a game with 3 friends, one of my friends got stuck in place when fighting Deimos. He went into settings to see all his keybinds were just gone! after restarting the game it allowed him to rebind all his keys, after which when he loaded in we found he lost EVERYTHING. Almost like his save file was lost with his keybinds. Anyone know how to check and see if it’s missing or how to get it back?
We already tried checking/verifying local files which I think might have caused then loss of save data.

Hey there, so sorry about this, we've seen it once before and it's frustrating so my apologies to your friend there. I do have some steps to recover his save file, let me know if it helps:

To recover your save, turn off Steam Cloud saves for PERISH so that it doesn't override what we're about to do. (Right-click PERISH, click on Properties and turn off Cloud Saves).

Then open file explorer and in the path bar, type %appdata%. Exit "Roaming" and enter "Local" under "appdata". You need to be in the following file path: AppData\Local\PERISH\Saved\SaveGames.

In that folder, you should see a main save "PERISH_Save" and a backup save "PERISH_Save_Backup".

Move the main save out of that folder somewhere completely different (don't delete it just in case) and leave the backup save in place. Rename "PERISH_Save_Backup" to: "PERISH_Save".

Then open PERISH again and hopefully you should have your progress back.
