The game looks like a wonderful update to Rampage that I'd like to play with my son.
unless theyre really young, like below 5, i wouldnt worry too much, but i do understand your concern. plus its fun enjoying games with family. at least its not GTA or some crap like that.
VERY few kids under, say, 12 is going to know or care about terms like eco-terrorism or militant-capitalism. Conversely, pretty much any kid who's ever skinned their knee while rollerskating is going to recognize what the "red stuff" flying out of people are.
There's a big difference. One is a universal sign of pain. The other is a bunch of adult-mumbo-jumbo.
There is literally a cutscene where a focus group, funded by a corrupt game publisher, asks for an option to disable gore. The whole game is satirical not only with regards to climate change, but about videogame violence, among other things.
I mean, I understand you not wanting to expose your kids to this kind of violence, nothing wrong with that, just wanted to point out that it is unlikely the author will add such an option, as it would be contrary to their vision.
*thinks back on all the Chinese censored versions of anime which paint blood white so it looks like... a certain bodily fluid instead*
I'm... not sure you want that particular option, buddy. Not unless you want to make it look even less suited for children.
I've noticed this stuff, and it's hilarious. They should probably just emulate Rampage if they want to show this style game to their kids.
*stares at your hours playing Fallout, Yakuza, Arma III, Just Cause...*
Yes dev, why do you have to go and put politics in our games? Like any sort of media product, videogames are supposed to only have politics I agree with be 100% apolitical, so these politics I don't like should be removed from the game.
However, if you were to remove any of the politics I do agree with, that would be "censorship" and "cancel culture". Because that's how this works, apparently.
