Will PGA Tour 2K21 have HDR?
TGC miss the HDR train every year. I don't understand why as the game just lends itself to HDR in every way. Will this year finally be the start of HDR goodness in a golf game on PC?

It doesn't have HDR but you can use Reshade 4,7 to get close. It has HDR that you can set up to use on the game.

very few pc gamers have hdr capable monitors. those that do are mainly limited to 400 nits max. 400 nits is a waste of time when it comes to hdr.
very few pc gamers play at 4k and even fewer have proper hdr.
i play on a lovely 65 inch tv with 1000 nits. sadly theres a lot of pc snobbery about playing on a large screen
in many ways, its not worth the game devs time and money on pc hdr as the take up will be minimal. Less than 1% will play with proper hdr.
hdr implementation on pc has been terrible.
oh yes, proper hdr is around 1000 nits

fifa 20 doesnt have hdr. i suspect that fifa 21 wont have it
Yes its lazy not to have it, but HDR on pc still isnt universally used
I have just played madden 21 and EA have used hdr for first time.

Of course it isn't, HDR under 1000 nits is rubbish.

99% of displays on the market don't have the technology to produce a quality HDR image.

thats what i have just said if you read my comment. not everyone plays on a tiny monitor. some play on beautifully large TV with proper hdr which will also inject hdr into an image that doesn't have it at source. I can't imagine playing on a little monitor ever again.

Whatever this game has, it's lacking the correct color green. The lime green in-game color of each course just doesn't look right.

Honestly, the course colors looked deeper and more realistic in TGC 2019, when compared with television footage of any real Tour event.

its a game mate. games look nothing like real life. Take the lastest f1 game. yes it looks stunning at 4k ultra with hdr but it stills looks like a game.
what do you expect games to look like with such limited technology? We are centuries away from star treks holodeck.

Actually there are plenty of simulation games that look true enough.

Nevertheless, a video golf game should at least make you feel like you're looking at a golf course on television.

The issue is the comparison images, between this game and real life courses. These florescent color in-game courses just don't create nearly enough immersion.

Look at this latest round in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and tell me does this video look like anything in the game?

Also, listen to the sound of the impact, and tell me does it sound like anything in the game?

The game engine just needs to be completely reworked... into an engine that doesn't look at least 5 years outdated.

I wish people would stop posting this. Reshade can't at all make a game that is in SDR be in HDR or look close to that. Most HDR screens don't even output at full brightness w/o a HDR signal.

The HDR filters in Reshade and co were designed back in the Oblivion days to give a game with only internal SDR frame buffer the look of an internal HDR frame buffer, but not that of a game that can actually output HDR.

Special K is a software that can hook into that internal HDR frame buffer most games have and produce a HDR image.

Just as a heads up, this game works beautifully with Special K, allowing you to get real HDR in it. I use those settings (you can find the mask to apply them under Widgets -> HDR):

11 bit remaster also works but I thought I see a tiny hint of blue tone in the shadows with it on, but I might test that further...

Also, you have to set Windows to HDR for this to work. BTW, if you are tired of doing that manually for some games use this software to switch between SDR and HDR depending on what game was launched:
