backspin

I just started playing a few months ago and I unable to understand how to execute backspin on my ball in certain situations where it may come in handy, any assistance would be much appreciated, thank you in advance. ( I use mouse and keyboard )

Unlike previous PGA games, in 2K21, you will have to set up your backspin before your swing, as you won’t be able to adjust the ball while it’s in the air. To put backspin on your shot, you will need to press L1 on PlayStation or LB on Xbox, at which point you will then see two gauges pop up in the middle-left of your screen.

The left of those two gauges presented will indicate where on the ball you’re hitting. You would then either move the left thumbstick up to get topspin on the shot or move it down to get backspin.

Back spin comes in handy when you really want to slow the ball down, especially with a fast running green. Took me awhile to understand this as well, but once you start getting good at judging the green and how fast the arrows are moving, there is no better feeling than to loft a ball up 150 feet and sticking that green and having your ball stay in place next to the hole. PS: I also use Mouse and Keyboard.
