Yep you pretty much got it all correct.

Putts per hole is exactly what it says, and FIR excludes par 3's as you're supposed to reach the green instead of fairway with your tee shot.

GIR is greens in regulation, meaning you'll have to have a putt for birdie for it to count. So landing on green with the tee shot on par 3's, first 2 shots on par 4's and with first 3 shots on par 5's.

Putt per hole would be....well, ideally you want 1 per hole. A two putt situation is a little uncommon in golf, and three putts is downright embarrassing, at least outside of this game...inside this game, it's even more frustrating.

Try to tee shot as far as you can, second shot it on the green if it's a short par 5 or 4, and then putt in 1. Some courses have holes with very short par 5's, you can just grind these courses to lower your pph score...and there are courses with a lot of par 3's and short par 4s making birdies easy if you can figure out putting

I use sand wedge a lot as well as low iron itching wedges if I am on a par 3 or otherwise on fairway and close to the green, that way the ball basically lands straight down, so if I calculate for wind and move my mouse in a fluid motion, the ball is going to land where I had the target placed on the green

I have played this game a lot by myself so I can be better when playing with friends. Pro tip: If you use mouse and keyboard, the mouse acts like the face of the putter. You can aim putts besides just moving your character's feet. If you adjust the mouse correctly and at just the right time you can curve the putter and it makes long putting shots easier.

Moving the mouse upward too slowly makes you slice, moving it upward too fast makes you hook (but I am lefty so it probably reverses if you're righty)

i noticed i can lower my PPH with pratice on the course Im training on..
getting to know the best approaches and lays helps a lot with getting closer to the pins..

went from like 1.84 PPH
down to like 1.44 PPH so...

closer to 1.00 the better your game, right?

Lower your PPH is, better is your short game, probably the most important part of golf.
