Black screen startup?

I've just finished a 3 hour download of Prototype, and started it, but all I'm getting is occasional music, and a black screen. With no options to do anything. Suggestions?

Unstall it and then delete all Prototype stuff that mean the folder in the steamapp and if there's one in the document folder. Make sure do that get all Prototype files off your pc and then reinstall

lemme ask, maybe you've already figured out the issue, maybe you've given up hope and uninstalled it already, but is this what you're gettting: right after you double click the icon to play the game it gives you a black screen that slowly fades to white/blue?

If so, this is exactly the problem I had after I downloaded the game; reinstalling it didn't help, and neither did forcing it to a smaller resolution. And it wasn't my comps fault (im running an AMD 8 core @ 3.1ghz, 8g of ram, and a Radeon 7870 card), and I was stumbed. the internet didn't help me out at all, I was stumped.

on the forums; simply replacing the .dll file in the Prototype SteamApp folder with the one from the zip worked like a charm.

Not sure if you're having the same issue I did, but hopefully this'll help somebody.
