How to optimize the game.
If you've got a fairly new computer you'd want to optimize this game to make it look better. When I first launched this game, it looked pretty dull and I immediately uninstalled it. However, I found a way to make things better.

First head over to gamecopyworld and get the resolution change app. Put it in the game's dir and run as administrator then select your resolution.

Now create an application profile in your video card's control panel. I have a Radeon, so, I had to open up the VISION Engine Control Center and create a profile for prototypef.exe. If you have an NVIDIA card, the setup should be almost the same, just look for the profiles page in your control panel.

In the profile, set AA to 4x and AF to 16x and texture filtering to high. You can also use better AA or just use the default Multi-sample because the others are a little taxing sometimes.

Now run the game and go to sound settings and set it to 32ms. Now play and you should notice that the game looks and feels better.

I don't like the graphics because I played Prototype 2 first. Plus, with the bad voice acting and all, I had to do something to compensate.

But hey if I didn't like good graphics I'd just be playing Pokemon instead.

Haha, Thumbs up to that response Hustler. ....
On the first post.Problem is, why should I have to do extra work to get a game to look better on my PC I have an i7 16GB GTX 680 w 2GB... The game dev should add that into an update for the game... Just my thoughts...

Can you post some screenshots of how the game looks now? Thanks :]

Well, unfortunately that was like 2 weeks ago. I actually borrowed the game (retail copy) from a friend because I really liked playing Prototype 2. I returned the game after completing it.

Anyway, you should know that Mercer's jacket doesn't look like plastic bag anymore :P Then there's anisotropic filtering, which makes the ground look a lot better. The environment will look just about as good as Prototype 2 and the NPCs will look slightly refined because of MSAA and stuff.

Yea they should have but unfortunately, Activition closed them down :( I'm pretty sure we would have seen a Prototype 3 if that didn't happen. Well, anyway, it's probably because the game was made in 2008 and had to run properly on consoles. Luckily, DX9 is pretty customizeable.

But hey, I had a ton of fun with this game and I highly recommend it.

Ya Prototype 1 is the better game and the red zone are way more fun. But the game look pretty much like Prototype 2. The textures are pretty much the same but 2 has better lighing.

The game looks fine to me and runs very smoothy, which is what I like. I will play a game that runs smoothy over a pretty slide show anyday.

The title is "How to Optimize the Game". So, some of you smarties think that the game looks really awesome on stock settings, that's fine by me. But, there's no need to complain about me making a post to help some people get a better visual punch in the game.

You like the game, good. Don't come whining about why you should look for more. If you don't need more then just play the game dude nobody cares.

Know one's complaining and put the picks up to show the differnt to Valannor. My version of the game didn't need a fix i could already play it at 1080p with 4x AA and even with your setting it dosen't make it look better. But hey it the graphics you should not care about it the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded auto aim that make's it not fun with M&K.
