Prototype opens but I can't play

Whenever I try to play it, it opens up, but then there is a black screen, and then it goes straight back to my desktop. If I try again, it does the same thing. I've tried to open it directly, as administrator, I've tried to verify game cache, but nothing!

Try to install VC Redistribution and DirectX manually.

Both in your game folder.

Nope. Same issue, though I did update my c++ visual redist.

I have been having the same issue, and I did some digging on the support pages. It looks like the port only officially supports XP and Vista -_-...

I don't know if that is the root cause of it not running, as these responses are fairly new, but it looks like we might be screwed if steam points to that and says 'don't say we didn't you so'.

to anyone interested, desabling hyperthread from the bios made the game finally start, I highly recomend though to do all the stuff you can find online to improve framerate/audio coz it was really bad for me

Came for an answer, but this is way too much hassle to play the game! ♥♥♥♥, why did i use money on this last year. I only tried it again, but I forgot it needs this that and the other. I need to read more before buying games here
