Give him the oreo and chips ahoy factory.
Let me just make the first thing clear: Alex's victims don't remain concious in him, he just hears their memories and acquires their abilities, which he later uses. Him and Dana talking about how he hears them is just for the story's sake, to sound cool. They pretty much die and Alex uses what's left of them.
As for why Heller doesn't ''hear'' them as well, swears all the time and is just annoying as a character, is Radical's fault. They could have done so much with Prototype (*cough* Pariah *cough*). Hell, they could have made James likeable. Remember how mysterious and awesome the Blackwatch were? Frightening, elite soldiers, many psychotic, as shown in the Web of Intrigue (Marines talking about them was ust like the Wehrmacht soldiers talking about the SS, during the days of the Third Reich). In P2, Radical decided to give them a sh*tty futuristic look and make them baby-killers (which they were in P1), but now they're working with Gentek, experimenting on civilians? They made Gentekkies sh*t their pants in P1. Maybe it was corruption after Randall's death, but they don't explain it, which is poor story writing.
Back to the topic, sorry. Yes, they decided not to keep the intriguing story parts from P1, even though the fans were theorising and talking about them. I understand Alex's change of heart, but considering Radical's incompetence, they probably really killed him, just like they threw away the important story bits from P1. Maybe it was a money-grabbing idea, that Activision suggested they think of, for a sequel where Alex returns, but, oh well, their disappointment of the fans led to their doom (Fixed, improved gameplay, but removed groundspike, hammertoss and other iconic moves, better graphics, sh*tty story and protaganist, and, oh, let's not forget, the GODAWFUL PC PORT). I really supported them, once, when I still thought the P2's story was somewhat good. The one and only time I prayed was for Radical to make P3 and bring Mercer back (ha, ha. That's how desperate and depressed I was).
Our theories, which are more logical than the developer's thinking, don't matter anymore. Radical Enterainment's out. They paid for their mistakes and we're left to pretend that disaster of a sequel never happened. It's still fun to talk about it, eh. :)
I like him because he makes me laugh with how over the top his quotes are. He's an outrageous character. He's also voice acted very well. Alex is decently voice acted too, although I MUCH prefer Barry Pepper for Alex.
The story is decent for a video game, at least. It's easy to follow, cohesive, and is still interesting in the right ways.
The port may be unfortunate, but hey at least I can run it. I don't care that it occasionally dips down to 20 fps, I still LOVE this game. It's a ton of fun, ALL the time.
Steam censors douche? That's a cuss word?
Is there anything wrong with that? Also, noice necro.
