Water tower - collect genetic material. Orbs not dropping?

Im on the mission to destroy the water towers and each time i destroy them (before they hatch) they dont drop any orbs? Ive tried restarting the mission, loading earlier save ect but cant seem to get it to work.

You 100% sure they aren't hatching? Because if you're not using the Hammerfists your other powers and normal fists aren't gonna deal enough damage to destroy the towers.

yeah they broke and the hunter was dead, just had to start a new game to get it to work lol
