Also maybe you can try to edit the first one with a notepad and instead of "F" value you can put "3" which should make the game run only on 2 cores. Or edit the second one and put "0xFF" instead of 0x64.
Another one would be to go to your BIOS setting and turn off hyperthreding. Some people had success after that.
Anyway the final solution would be to reboot the pc with only 4 cpu cores (or even 2).
