Personally I only use two other mods.

Fast Travel Enabler - https://www.nexusmods.com/nehrim/mods/3
(you will need to disable if completing a quest in which it teleports you)

Unofficial Nehrim Fixes - https://www.nexusmods.com/nehrim/mods/38
(the game still crashes relatively frequently for me, but I think this helps)

Also, don't be alarmed if the Star People still speak German. Unfortunately the English VA mod doesn't cover these characters which you meet about half way through the game.
