Oblivion keeps launching Nehrim
Sorry if this has been posted but I could not find a recent post related to this.

I installed Nehrim and played it for a little bit before deciding I wanted to continue playing Oblivion.

However every time I start Oblivion it jumps to Nehrim, which I DO NOT want.

*Uninstalled Nehrim, thinking that would take care of it. NOPE
*Ran a search and removed all files & folders with Nehrim. NOPE
*Ran regedit and removed all traces of "Nehrim". NOPE
*Verified integrity of Oblivion files. NOPE.
* Re-installed all Mods via Wrye Bash and sorted using BOSS.

After Steam re-installed and I did the above, Oblivion started up but then switched to Nehrim.

When I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common I see an Oblivion, Oblivion Mods, and Oblivion_BACKUP folders. But I don't know if I should touch them.

Should I re-install Nehrim and then never have it commingle with Oblivion?

Help!

Thanks,

-Steve C

use the switcher and switch from Nehrim to Oblivion - normally the Oblivion_backup (unless you changed anything) is the normal Oblivion

Problem is I uninstalled Nehrim (and registry settings). Also not sure what you're referring to when you say "switcher".

Can I install the Oblivion_Backup folder files into the Oblivion folder (after removing the Oblivion files)? Also, I rebuilt everything after deleting the Oblivion & Oblivion_BACKUP folders from their locations (made copies to Desktop before deleting). But now when I attempt to run Oblivion, it crashes at the Bethesda logo (have run BOSS & TES4 to clean up and sort).

install oblivion. install nehrim.
then just run the nehrim launcher. it will ask you which game you want to play and it will take care of the folder switching.

What I did was roundabout but appears to have worked. I took the Oblivion_BACKUP and had it replace the Oblivion folder.

When I attempted to run it, it still crashed. I checked the Error App I had installed a while back, and it noted a CTS Warning and a warning that a Font wasn't loading. I then disabled DarnifiedUI and Oblivion loaded correctly (and ugly lol since it was back to the default UI).

So now I am trying to figure which font is the issue. Note: When I accessed my last saved game, everything was in place. So once I get the font fixed I'm good to go.

Thanks for your help!

Just tryng to help but just reinstall DarnfiedUI maybe?(I remember that the positions of the icons on the screen i always change the size and location so if you also do it make a backup of the file in wich the mod saves the x,y positions of the icons if i remember right it must be manually change it as no menu ingame can change it).

Good call, that's exactly what I did. I uninstalled it, deleted the folders (per the Darnified website), and then reinstalled it. It now works, but it's now strangely missing the tab that has all the modifications on it. Where do I manually change it? the oblivion.ini?

But regardless it works, and that's the important thing!
