Then nope. It's not a rework of the mod, it's just an update. If you're using the old mod version you can even download other, compatible mods that are outdated with the stand alone too. That is, until the mod version gets updated too (which is in the works, from my understanding).

I've recorded an area here where you find a statue that shows the head of a wyvern / snake, whatever.
There are some mushrooms and some chests.
That area is not available in the mod-version.
You can see that area at 5:40.
I was able to run the steam version with the dvd oblivion and have seen the first (tutorial) dungeon, but the exit door doesnt work, so I go back to the old nehrim. Hope for an update asap on the servers ;-)
But if ther no differences in story and quest an update is not extremly important
