I'm not sure if this is a bug, because the event shop disappears at the same time as the timer runs out. (This has been the case since the last Valentine Event, where the shop also disappeared at the same time as the timer expired).
However, i will bring this up internally and will forward your "complaint".
Aurora
I got caught out on the last event, where I decided to save all my tokens until the event was over and then buy some cool stuff, once I knew how much I had to play with. The event ended, and I lost everything. Thankfully, I'd already bought the character icon I wanted (a unicorn - I got the fluffy bunny this time around), so I didn't really loose too much.
The only way around it now is to set an alarm to go off just in time to give yourself some chance of buying what you want. If, like me, during the end of the first event, you were deployed out of range it is tough luck.
This really is the worst type of anti-player behaviour. Why they would do this is beyond me and I bet they lose players on account of it. Why they don't give a grace period is beyond me, but as one wise man's mother once said: Stupid is as stupid does. A smart company would allow you to access the event shop for as long as you had tokens, and NOT piss off your player base, by ripping out the rug under their feet.
However, the game is free and I'm fairly chill, so I just accept it as the price of doing "business", in a world, where "free", actually means P2W.
Mind you, with the exception of the character icons, the rewards for the event are really quite pathetic. A few keys, chests and other stuff that can be earned fairly easily, make it more of an interesting distraction, rather than anything I look forward to. FFS, nothing even applies to the Engineering side of play. I really had to wonder as to why I could not buy blueprints with event tokens.
I feel they really should cut the item costs by at least 50%, and introduce some other unique stuff. For example, given just how cookie cutter, the "heroes" are, and how pointless anything but defence is (sarcasm), allowing players to buy some special heroes that were better, or something extra would make them much more interesting.
