P2w amulets...
Now every player can throw money in screen and buy tons of amulets for decrease missions cooldown, firestone researches cooldowns, power, money, etc. When free players only can buy chance for drop 2 beers or wave/stage skip.
I think leaderboard pointless thing after this update. Free2play players now have 0 chances to reach/stay top places.

Yeah, the new update is a major step back IMO. Lets hope they can dial it back a bit.

this game just want player with money.

It's not like new players even had a chance of getting to #1 unless everyone ahead of them stops playing. #1 would stay #1 forever unless they stopped playing because it's simply about being ahead on time played at that point. This change at least means the leaderboard isn't set in stone and completely unchanging.

But honestly, who even cares. It takes zero skill to play this game and the leaderboard is just showing who spend more time/money than the people under them. That's it. It's a side amusement but it's not anything important or impressive. If your rank went up it just means the people you passed stopped playing. That's really all it meant.

My concern is more the future. 1st this, then what is next?

Also, they plan on adding world bosses, guilds and more multiplayer content beyond just a chat room. How will p2w elements affect this?

The concern people have about this new update is a reasonable one.

even i am not f2p, i really suggest to switch from money to gems for amulets - each player should be able to buy them if playing long enough

And how would new players ever have a chance to compete otherwise? Prior to this update the oldest players would simply dominate everything until they got bored and quit. There's no chance to catch up because you simply can't catch up. If they're 2 months ahead, they will *always* be 2 months ahead unless they stop playing. Add in guilds and world bosses and now you have a group of the oldest players dominating everything with no competition at all. Simply because they started earlier.

At least now someone can spend some money and try to catch up without having to wait for people to quit playing before they can get ahead.

And honestly, there should be a reward to spending money and supporting the game. The perk the free player gets is being able to play for free. Someone isn't entitled to be competitive in an idle game simply because they downloaded a game for free.

Understandable... as a paying player of this game myself, catching up isn't a personal concern, but I can see how it might be to others.

Hello everyone,
we read everything you wrote in kongregate/steam forums and also discord and in-game chat.
As you know this game is community driven and your thoughts and feedback matter to us.

As we have understood your main concern is that by adding several amulets only with money, we opened the door to add more things this way, and this would mean that many of the players wouldn't be able to get them.
I would like to say on behalf of our team that this wasn't something that we would consider. The amulets implementation was an one time only thing for us, mostly as an experiment, hoping that you would like them as it is.

Your concerns though are valid since many games have taken that path, and while we are devs, we are mainly gamers since we play a lot of games, we agree with you!
For this reason we decided to make an update and all the Amulets that could be purchased with money only to have a second option. That option would be to buy them with gems.
A few of the players suggested that so we think it's a great idea and it also comes from the community. The price that was mostly suggested was 2000 gems since this way it is also fair for the guys that already acquired the amulets with money.

To better explain this, Gems can be farmed, also can be bought. If someone was buying 10$ worth of gems he would get 1150 gems, but on the other hand if we calculate the cost of gems when purchasing an even high package like Mountain of Gems or the Sales, the 10$ worth a lot more gems. So by pricing the amulets at 2000 Gems, people who have already purchased them or people that plan to purchase them with money instead of gems will still have a slight benefit. We want to be fair with everyone supporting us this way so that is our decision on the pricing.

The update will be the soonest possible, today or tommorow.
