1. Autosave icon does not disappear after it first appears, indicating that the game is still trying to save?
2. When you go to "Save game" to save manually, you can't.
3. When you go to "Load game" there are no saves listed there.
If that's the case, can you please try pressing Windows key + R key and paste the following: %localappdata%/O2/Saved/SaveGames
You should have some AutoSave_number.sav files in there. If not, that means the game is trying to save to the right location, but can't, which is usually a result of 1 of 3 issues:
1. Your antivirus/firewall is blocking or has quarantined one of the game's files.
2. You have "Controlled folder access" enabled in Windows. To see if that's the case, enter "Ransomeware protection" in Windows Search and hit Enter. If this setting it on, the game won't be able to save to the folder.
3. The AppData folder, the "local" folder in it or the "O2" folder in the "local" folder are set to "Read only". To check that, right-click each of those three folders and go to "Properties".
Thank you very much for your quick and effective response. You understood my problem very well.
Regarding solution number 2 – I don’t have such an option because I use ESET Antivirus.
Regarding solution number 3 – I had already checked this several times before by changing the attributes, but it didn’t yield any results. However, today I discovered that I am indeed unable to copy any files into the O2 folder. Here’s what I did:
RMB on O2 folder -> Properties -> Protection -> Users, All: I set all permissions options to "Allow." And it worked! :)
You are better than THQ Support!
