However it is a sequel to a game so I am not going to act like it's developers being lazy.
But I would have liked some customisation even just for the main character I don't like his appearance very much.
yeah I get that its a continuation of the previous game, but most players prefer to have some customization. It makes the character feel more like you so the immersion is better. As far as the not having any female aliens, I red that in an ign article and thought that was really weird, I have always found it distasteful when games don't have pregnant women, babies, small children, young children in games because it feels unnatural for there to just be nothing but adults, like how did they even get there. where are everyone's parents lol
Of course IGN thinks it's weird, these are the kinds of people that think remaking RE5 is "problematic". They are tools.
Also, it does feel unnatural, because this is set on an alien planet..so who knows, perhaps they come from eggs. We get enough 'i put myself in the game/movie/tv show' from current day writers and directors, we don't need it in every game. What's next ? Where's my wheelchair? Why can't my character be deaf or blind?
I personally feel like the more options you give to players to make the character the way they like it, the happier they are and at the end of the day, with so much crap going on in the world, all the stresses from work ect, you want to come home and enjoy something fun and happy. So if game developers can help facilitate that then people will feel better.
This isn't exactly unfun and dour and I don't really associate being able to create my own character in a game as something that makes me happy. It's just an option in games where there isn't a specific appearance needed. This isn't that.

It would be like Mafia 3 where all the cutscenes are in his default costume and when you swing back, you're in a tuxedo.
I guess this means it's ok not to have a character creator.
