Just make him look like the original cover art, hair and all, just in higher definition:

Bare minimum, just use an updated version of the Cutter model from Second Contact.
The new design looks/sounds totally off and is almost nothing like the OG character at all.
I mean we're talking about the games main protagonist here. Please spend more time on it.
Everything else looks amazing.
Just base Cutter on John Willink [chartwellspeakers.b-cdn.net] XD
John Willink is an actual Ex Navy Seal just like Cutter Slade is supposed to be.
Hahah hell no
A lot of the charm of the original Cutter Slade was the voice talent. He could easily have been the most generic of generic video game super soldiers, but his voice just had this likable, sarcastic charm thing going on that I'm afraid might not be replicated here.
Part of this could be writing, too, and we're going off an early trailer, but it's a little worrying with what little we have sampled so far. The voice just isn't doing it for me and comes off as the "generic of generic".
Visually, the character doesn't really look like either original or Second Contact Cutter Slade aged up. It's a little jarring that I didn't even vaguely recognize the character.
