Scout Handbook Repair Chance

I've played a ton of games over the past several days. I scavenged the scout handbook in nearly all of them. Some playthroughs lasted a loooong time (including the beat the record achievement). Not once did I get a chance to repair any broken item. Ever. How oftent does the opportunity arise?

yeah me too i never have the event :/ and i done a ton of playtrough ( always have the book ) the only events i had is with the bugspray repear the medkit ( no books need )

Same. I read somewhere you don't need the scout book to get the medkit repair (only the bug spray). I want to say I've done that, but I have trouble remembering what I did 30 minutes ago, much less 5 playthroughs ago! I wonder if the book got nerfed?

Pretty much. I've had some long runs (including 114 days) with broken items and the scout book and it never came up. It's to the point where I may as well trade it if the opportunity comes up.
