Also, what's the state of their civilisation? Diadochi are rather vulnerable to collapse from reaching 5 aging tokens when their civilisation is either old or decadent. Capturing their capital will expedite that. As in, their empire can just vanish abruptly to be replaced by independent territory. (See page 90 of the manual for Diadochi special rules)
