Tactical battles in this game?

The screenshots on the store page show tactical battles that look like FoG 2. Are these screens taken from FoG: Empires or not?

The screenshots on the game page are all from the game itself. Battles are automated though. It's a bit like what you can get from Civilization, only with much more details and subtleties on how the battles are foughts.

Hi,

I think you are referring to screenshots featuring the Empires Battle System, in which the battles are automated. It's a system that allows players to see why certain units perform in a certain way against the enemy, or how that experienced General boosts your inesperienced soldiers.

If you want more direct control over tactical battles and own Field of Glory 2, you can import the battle from FOG Empires into FOG2 and import back the result into FOG Empires

You must be speaking of the option of playing tactical battles using FoG II then. It's a very nice addition to Empires, but by no mean mandatory.

How do you import the battle to FoG 2? I bought the bundle but the battle just happened.

Be sure to have at least launched FOG 2 once (you don't need to play a battle).

Then in Empires when you get the little Battle window with the big round button and crossed swords, you have another button underneath called 'export battle'.

You can't play city assault and sea battles in FOG 2 though, just saying!

I would imagine there might be battles you'll want to fight out in FoG2 and others more quickly without.

I am speaking about that because you are displaying screenshots depicting tactical battles in your store page here on Steam. (The marquee with videos and screenshots on the main page)

It explains everything. And yes, all the screenshots on the store page depicting battles are part of the base game.

Oh its mentioned here too... I think its odd you display 9 out of 25 screenshots of battles you cant play but need another program to play out.

Why not add that other game to this game when you buy it. (or something)

It is a weird and lazy mechanic to export battles in another game, that is what's stopping me to buy this game, also automation should be an option not imposed. Too bad.
