I can't get past the spider droid

SQ! -VGA - No matter what I do or which direction I go I either get blown up or die of thirst. I have my survival pack and the water jar ready to go but I still die no matter how fast I try to drink.

two ways to do it, either climb up on those overhanging bones and wait with your cursor hand on one big rib that the droid will walk under (it was a rock in the EGA version). Option 2 is go in the Orat lair, then hand on the rocks inside to hide behind them. The thirst mechanic has nothing to do with the spiderbot, can't replicate the problem there.
