The shotgun is ideal weapon against them since it puts them into a pain-state which cancels their melee attack and knocks them back.
They are supposed to bleed but it's currently bugged in this release, just shoot them when they are solid.
Consider yourself lucky then, there are many omissions from the original version. Bugs may not be the most accurate way to describe them.
Tommy gun also does well but Sawed-off is the way to go.
What do you mean 'smashed to death'. What does that mean?
A bit more context is required for me tbh, Smashed by a moving pillar? Smashed by a door closing?
It sounds exactly as it says. Another word for that is crushed.
Safest way to kill them without getting damaged is to use the shotgun's alt-fire the moment they turn solid to slash you or to throw a projectile. In lower difficulties, you can use the tommygun on them at a distance when they get happy with the projectile spam. On extra crispy they tend to just fly straight into your face at 100 mph, so shotgun alt-fire is ideal. It will take 2-10 shots to get rid of them pending on the difficulty, which is 4-20 shells provided you hit them at optimal range.
Yeh i get that part...
Was seeking a bit of context. I'm assuming the person meant crushed by level geometry or objects like the pistons in the factory level, that kind of thing?
Havn't played any of those levels since latest beta dropped. I know the pistons were acting strange though in the beta before last, killing the player on the upwards motion, not just the downwards one. And i feel like i have been trapped under a falling piece of level geo. that squashed my view down but didnt kill me... again - previous beta build
