Seems a bit harsh. If someone wants to support him by buying it from steam, and have the convenience of having it in their library, then they should definitely do that.
It's honorable that he is still providing it for free on Github, it being paid on steam is like a convenience fee, and it is completely understandable he would want to have support for his work.
$7.99 does seems a bit steep though, if I needed it I would buy it on steam for $4 maybe, but chained together is $5 and is a whole-ass game. 🤣
Talk about money hungry like EA. Have you forgotten that you have three donation types in the OVR's DLC section, or you made it paid because people aren't purchasing them due to a fact that it does nothing as stated in the description of those DLCs? Also, the post you made 5 years ago, the one above saying that "It will be free", sounds hypocritical now.

If I get banned on this discussion page over the fact that I'm complaining about OVR becoming paid now, so be it then. I already know that I'm being way too immature, so go ahead and do your thing. All I can say is, you can't just make a tool locked behind paywall when you have at least 3 donation buttons in its DLC section! That's just me though, because I'm not one of those "simps" who gives money to strangers, only to receive nothing in return. That's called scamming. Spending money on food to survive is more important than paying strangers for doing absolutely nothing.
Looking at your announcement made a year ago and seeing the second part of it after you swapped the price.
As far as I know, this VR tool is working perfectly fine the way it is, so it doesn't necessarily need more changes, and changing the price does "ultimately" nothing. Your recent announcement was made on May 30, 2024, and recent patch update was made on March 29, 2024. How is making a VR tool locked behind paywall gonna include better support through more documentation/tutorials and give your more time when it can be done without swapping the price? Either way, I'm done complaining, and don't bother replying because there are better things to do than reading comments that are humiliating, as if being banned from this discussion page isn't already humiliating enough. I don't even care anymore, just do it if it makes you happy!
I got OVR way before the price was swapped and I have the legal right to pirate it if you end up deleting your post containing the free download of that VR tool on GitHub eventually. If buying isn't owning, then pirating isn't stealing.
