How to upgrade v4 on Steam to v 2022

Pilgway needs to fix a few things to make this easier. Here is how to do it:

Go to pilgway.com or 3Dcoat.com
Register an account on the website (name, password, etc)
You need to register your version 4 3DCoat from Steam onto the pilgway site.
If you click on Search for v4 license, it will ask for your email you used for the v4 purchase or your v4 license key.
You don't have either....yet.

In you Steam library, right click on 3DCoat. Select Manage....View CD key
This will show you your version 4 license. Copy it!

In pilgway.com, click on Search for V4 license.
Paste the license key that you found in your Steam library.
This will register your v4 with Pilgway

Now, on the website try to view your v4 license again.
Under the 3DCoat Version 4 header will be a button labeled "Upgrade".
Click the Upgrade button

This will take you to the purchase cart area. Go through the transaction.
It will give you a download link for the software and a download for the license key inside an encrypted file.

Download and install 3DCoat 2022
Download the license key file.

Run 3DCoat 2022. A message will ask you for the license or for your email/password to look for your license online.

Click Load License. Navigate to the new license file that you downloaded.
The license will install properly and everything will be ready to use!

Sorry, stupid question...Is this post intended for just explaining how the upgrade process works, or was this supposed to show a way to get the latest version for free? I ran the steps and it is asking for 229 euros. A bit hefty... Thanks!

When I try it I just get a message saying Fill one of the fields in red.. but I have filled both my email address and the key :(

It is not for getting something for free. It is to help people navigate going from Steam's version 4 of 3DCoat to Pilgway to get the v 2022 version at the upgrade price. I saw that it was a convoluted process to get the UPGRADE price instead of the full price.

@Caldrin, Be sure you downloaded the new license key file. If you tell 3D Coat your email address, it might be looking at your old key license on the Pilgway server instead of your new license.

would this method still work now that 2023 version is out? just invested in hardware upgrade so playing whack-a-mole with finances.
