I was wondering the same thing
When launching Synced from the folder, it tries to talk to the anti-cheat engine it uses, but it errors because it can't find it.
It can't find it because it hasn't yet installed it when launching through Steam to perform the final setup.
This is the primary issue I believe.
The configuration file is empty as well, so there is no config at all.
the anti-cheat can't uninstall either. It tells you to restart and try again. This does not work.
This must be spyware?
Then the popup for steam required shows up.
But from Steam, it has the login window modal, but instead says to launch from Steam, no popup dialogue like when running externally.
sync-launcher.jupiterlauncher.com This is where it downloads some things from.
My system can't find that addresses IP address.
Found some background code in the source that transmits everything back to China.
