Rotation LERP?
So basically, what is Rotation Lerp? I tried searching online but didnt catch a good definition.

Lerp apparently means linear interpolation.
What that actually means in terms of control, I have no idea.
Hey, no other game has a slider for Rotation Lerp! :lunar2019piginablanket:

Just consider it the same thing as "mouse sensitivity."

For example, with my mouse settings, a light horizontal traverse will rotate about 90~100 degrees of view angle. If I set the LERP to 100, the same amount of movement rotates something like 120~150 degrees.

The impact of different settings, is a bit higher with FEs and weapons that have heavy aim inertia involved... not because the setting alters something drastically, but rather, because aim inertia is a cumbersome mechanic most people just get used to, so a change in LERP that even slightly alters things, may feel awkward. ... so perhaps FEs that often use weapons that cause inertia might find it useful. It could also impact how sensitive the aim feels while aiming your weapon in vehicles.

I dunno if the setting is more meaningful with the analogue input stick on gamepads, but for most mouses for PC users, as you can see from my example, even a 100 setting doesn't make that much of a difference.

you can read about Lerp in the in-game manual

Is this the same thing as mouse smoothing? It seems to at least have a similar effect.

I thought it was mouse acceleration. But like Spooky Peanut said. Turn that ♥♥♥♥ off.

I thought Lerp sounded like some kind of horrible disease.

And I'll be turning that off when I play next to see what exactly it does.

LERP is linear interpolation, it takes multiple points of input and smooths them over.

TLDR it's aim smoothing. Set it to 0 if you're using a mouse.

It's in the game because it ironically provides a more reliable outcome from analogue inputs such as from joysticks.

When you let go of a joystick or manually recenter it yourself to stop your aim from moving, it will often take slightly different amounts of time for your aim to stop moving, LERP helps normalize it so it's more predictable. This however comes at the cost of removing the ability to snap aim. (EG when you're moving your aim to the right then snap the joystick to the left to immediately start aiming left)
