EDF! EDF!
Gecko was also joking, to a point. You have to admit if you played this game enough though, that it is unfairly called a few things. One of them being "mindless".
The tone of the game is very different from typical anime mecha that are too goofy for me. EDF mechs have a decent balance between not too stiff and boring to the point of "what's the point of a mech?" (mechwarrior) and full range of human motion that detaches it from feeling like a vehicle anymore... it's just a giant humanoid at that point : \
On a closing humorous note: I would not want any trippy meta 4th wall breaking author mental breakdown seeping into the last missions as a giant F.U to the player. At most, maybe Sarge becoming a recurring character and coming to save the day in E.D.F6 at a late stage: "I'm the only one that can use TWO blazers!
