The overall gameplay is improved compared to 4 with improvements, compared to EDF4 with snipers being dominant, 5 takes different approach with balancing and makes short range very deadly on most of classes, and for air air raider strikes more deadly and easier to use. But at end of day I feel like balancing in online has the same feel to it as 4.1 did just long range kinda bad and short range really strong basically a flip flop, if your an offline player you won't mind using majority of weapons. I'm being serious too I'd rather shotgun drones than use the sniper rifle on them because shotguns is just so versatile in this game lol.
The graphics might not look huge improvement from 4, but overall visual effects of blowing enemies body parts is also better in 5 to see and guns have have really nice firing sounds too.
By no means do I think it is the perfect EDF game as I have only some minor pet peeves about balancing but I think its taking a great step in right direction for the series. I would just say maybe the staff could be little more helpful in answering the people having issues with hardware, but they are Japanese and probably not too well verse in English so I can't be too mad at them for doing it.
