What does a plus sign next to a weapon's stat's star rating mean?
Could have sworn I'd seen a thread about this already but search provided no results.

No, that's the star being filled up. What I am referring to is an empty star symbol followed by a number which then has a + so say;

(Star)4+

I just had a splendor shot go from 1+ to 2+ so pretty sure it doesnt mean maxed out.

That's the projectile count of the weapon. It means that you still have upgrades left towards it.

Don't think that's entirely it. I have a Rapier amongst other weapons on WD that are fully upgraded, but they still have "Star6+" marked on them; since it's fully starred there should be no upgrades to it left.

But it would seem to indicate that the projectile count can be/is upgraded, since only instances I could see the + on was with weapons that have multiple projectiles.

It's like half a star.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one confused. It took me forever to get that the (PT) meant penetration, despite the weapon descriptions. Some things they leave obfuscated, but it might be worth perusing the in-game manual

The first time I saw the ☆+ I assumed it meant that I got an upgrade to that stat but that it wouldn't actually take effect until a different stat were increased to a certain amount, like a dependency of some sort. However, at some point (if I'm remembering right) I think I did encounter a weapon in which every stat was maxed except the one with the +, so that's probably not the case. So yeah, who knows! As for actual damage and pellet count values, I don't think it's necessarily anything to do with that specifically.

I can't help but think maybe this is the case. It's so ambiguous otherwise. What else could it possibly mean? Strange way to make the upgrade system, but it's the only thing that makes any sense.

Seems it could be related to damage modifier.
this.
Thanks. They got it right. From these posts on it's just spreading misinformation. I came looking for the info myself and after Timi's comment I was confused because and checked myself... I have literally no weapons with a " + " that ARE NOT multiple projectile per shot based. Sure, rapiers don't have +, means no more beams for those.

Also, thanks.
This is not wrong just vague. What they mean is that one part of the damage stat is above the star count, pellet or damage.

example: (3☆) 40x3 -> UP(3☆+)40x4

What is said regarding some melee weapons: speculating it's probably because they are splashy in nature. So that a player seeing a UP won't be like "wth, says up but stats are the same!" (I saw this happen some times lol)

It's been a while since I last played the game, but some mechanics still aren't that intuitive to be honest.
