OP, give Blood Storms a go, those are greatness
I just wish there was a higher level perfect liquid armor, or some of his suits offered a tiny amount of damage resista ce!
For EDF 5 I have to say I'm enjoying Ranger the most. Air Raider is pretty close with its improvements to, well air raids. Ranger, though, I like the feel of Minion Busters, Slaughter and Breacher shotguns are insanely powerful at point blank, and Free Bikes are freaking fantastic. Bikes in the last game were a joke but this time around it's somehow become my favorite vehicle, and I wish Air Raider could call them too.
Ranger run ability takes too long to activate and zooms in far too much to be fun to use. Even with later upgrades it's meh. Have some fun using his weapons though.
Fencer is much like Ranger with that mobility is rather slow. Even with booster mods. Weapons have so far been really weak sauce when using his and long reload on fun weapons.
Haven't tested Air Raider at all so don't know how he is.
I did so too in the start but later on you can get weapons which are devastating to enemies. Stardust Cannon and Destroyer Blaster 2 for example is quite powerful at low level. When you get the upgraded versions of the game it just gets so powerful. Not to talk about the upgraded Stardust cannons.
But basically most other weapons are weak or have energy cost so high that they are not worth it.
Rangers are nice due to the semi automatic assault rifles and the sprinting mechanic, although it may take a bit for the startup. Their other weapons are fine, but I like the AR + Bazooka combo.
Fencers are definitely good for bigger enemies when you pair two shotguns on a weapon set, and your other weapon set has side thrusters.
Wing Divers are nice for hit and run attacks, but I will need to experiment with their weapons more.
I really liked the air raider in the first one but they feel a bit slow for too many missions. I'm not sure how to change that.
The fencer is probably the best for me in terms of damage, mobility and skill ceiling for me. It's so satisfying to go careening through a gap in a cluster of bugs or aliens and tearing them apart barely being scathed and then launching away and mortaring the entire area.
In short, I like everything lol.
