try them out if you have any. i don't know if the low level ones are fast enough but they're definitely very quick in mid/late game, especially if you spam jump.
also, like honorable d says, the dlc2 "nix assault" mech is extremely quick and comes with dual machine guns and a shoulder-mounted stampede. if you don't have the dlc, the nix red guard is roughly just as fast as the dlc2 mech is.
Now Air raider vehicles are different. Blackers are slow compared to E551 Gigantus but have slightly better accuracy, damage and traction. If you want speed as AR you either need N9 Eros, or Armored Vehicle Grape. Now Grape has loss some speed from 4.1 but gained much more powerful weapons along with much better traction. Grape I belive has the largest collection radius for a vehicle. In terms of speed mechs what the post above me said is correct from my playtime. The red line of mechs are the Flame thrower variants. Fast and CQC oriented. Now they say they have lower armor but they seem to keep up with the base (blue) vairents. If you hopscotch around in the Red mechs you'll be about as fast as a Fencer (which are quite fast in EDF 5.
Now to answer your comment:
You're probably using Green versions of mechs. Now I can't say what the artillery versions of mechs color is due to lack of play time but Dark green is Anti Air variants. They can swivel on a dime but are slow in every other way. I would assume the Artillery versions are just like 4.1. Slow heavy armor but so much explosive power that they rival MOABS.
Red mechs (as mentioned earlier) are the fastest available for non-DLC. There is a way to move faster as a mech and it involves using the jet pack on the mech
MMB to jump,
Hold down MMB to use your jets just before landing
MMB to jump again immediatly after landing
The mech will brace its legs if it falls too hard and that prevents you from chain jumping. The key idea is to reduce the falling speed when landing, if you time it right you can chain jumps and move very fast.
Also, DLC 2 mech has the fastest movement of any class (except maybe fencer chaining jumps and dashes with twin spear) when you chain jump
P.S not saying you cant chain jump without using the jets, you can do it even without with proper timing, but this lets you change your mech facing direction in mid-air (thats pretty much a game changer in inferno)
