Sometimes certain weapons in a line will be worse than others. The first vertical spread plasmafall spreads too much with too little blast radius to be useful except when flying, but it's also too hungry to fly with. Second plasmafall packs enough punch for each shot that it's useful for carpet bombing from the ground, for instance.
Mag blaster
Force blade all var
Spine driver
Leviathan and haythal missile.
Tortoise all var.
Mortars might be one of those things I never use because it's quite inaccurate, very situational and slow. Not good enough for self defense nor offense.
Oh HELL no. Spine driver is an instantaneous, one click deletion tool. No windup, doesn't slow you down, good range and high damage. That's my main weapon for fencer on anything from easy to inferno.
Edit: I know it's for getting out of ant mouths, but limpet sniper seems straight-up better for that.
As much due to Murphy's law personal experience making it feel like you are more likely to kill drones and hornets with C20 bombs on the pavement, than for drones/bees to both trigger and die to AA landmines.
(Flying Frogs come in for a hot landing often enough that maybe I should give em a try there, though at that point REGULAR landmines would probably be better)
Not if you want to escape without chunking half your life off from self damage it isn't.
Try to bring them underground! They bounce and pierce and will clear the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ radar for you.

Though I have put the (Ranger, EDF 5 version) normal/wide style landmines to good used underground, like that surrounded on all sides underground ambush mission. And used landmines in EDF 5 way more than I ever did in 4.1 (Pillbugs roll by too fast for them to worm on them most of the time aaaarg)
Speaking of. Iron Rain's landmines even though they are a finite consumable are HOLY **** tier. So no matter what EDF, even a spin off, I guess it really does pay to dust off all your options from time to time.
