I have lost all trust for EDF NPCs. Hell, they have likely killed me more times than ants or spiders in total over all the EDF games Iv played.
@OP: That mission is pretty brutal. What's probably happening is all the enemies are attacking from behind the shield, and the npcs are failing to retaliate and stun them back, which makes them ripe for picking. You have to recruit them quickly and pull them somewhere less deadly, the approach the shield bearers on your terms.
They die wierdly fast, even faster than normal, and the grim reaper guy has a voiceline indicating that they're supposed to die (and this is also the first map where you get the god egg lady talking).
I'm wondering if it's intentional "storytelling" or not. There's suggestions that it is and suggestions that it's just wierdness (ie the soldiers don't always survive long enough to give voicelines. I have never heard the wing divers say anything for instance).
Frogs? You mean humans, right?
then i use my fencer to wreck them all.
almost all NPC reinforcement survive. they are the best anti air.
They may have an uncanny resemblance to humans... But they are *not* like us!
