And indeed, like before, the solution to that is to run it in windowed mode. I use Special K to force borderless window, since the game doesn't have it natively. Borderless Gaming works, but every time you switch focus away from or back to EDF, it restores the borders, and BG may or may not remove them again after a few seconds. It's just easier to set up Special K and have them stay gone.

After changing those settings I could play in full screen mode with no lag whatsoever.
Issue for me was having GSync on. Makes sense since this game is a port and stuck at 60fps and most likely has VSync forced on. VSync with Gsync on can cause all sorts of problems.
If you have AMD then turn off Freesync.
