Here is a fix for laggy/slow FPS/stuttering...
Set your game to windowed mode. Its the same thing you had to do with EDF 4.1. No more stutters.

Indeed, just like in 4.1, on my computer, if it's fullscreen, it pauses for about 1 full second any time new models/textures are loaded, I open the menu, or I pull up the quick communications menu.

And indeed, like before, the solution to that is to run it in windowed mode. I use Special K to force borderless window, since the game doesn't have it natively. Borderless Gaming works, but every time you switch focus away from or back to EDF, it restores the borders, and BG may or may not remove them again after a few seconds. It's just easier to set up Special K and have them stay gone.

I changed these settings in nvidia control panel and it seemed to help me out with constant fps drops. I still have g-sync turned on too.

Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization On
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias Allow
Texture filtering - Quality High performance
Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization On
Threaded optimization On
Vertical sync Off

After changing those settings I could play in full screen mode with no lag whatsoever.

a very strange solution I found was to start video recording the game using the windows game bar : while being recorded the game stops stuttering and becomes fluid, very strange

Hrmm, what if you get FPS drops but its not ALWAYS low?My rig is pretty decent (or so I thought) and yet...

The game is pretty CPU intensive at times, and no amount of dropping the resolution or graphics quality will help you if you simply have a low framerate. The OP is addressing long pauses when opening menus or when the game is loading textures, specifically.

the game is great though i bought it today realy enjoying it. hope they will make some more fixes to it so we dont have to tinker with so many settings and more ppl can enjoy the game :)

allucard with those settings you can leave g-sync on so that should help you with tearing. Do you have a g-sync monitor?

After trying everything out there, I found that disabling g-sync completely eliminated the stuttering/freezing that was almost unplayable, still cant use a mouse though, still freaks out and spins you around.

I was getting drops every second to 1 fps.

Issue for me was having GSync on. Makes sense since this game is a port and stuck at 60fps and most likely has VSync forced on. VSync with Gsync on can cause all sorts of problems.

If you have AMD then turn off Freesync.

Whenever I enable VSync EDF crashes
