Good anti-hack in this game?
I love these games but I'm always worried playing Co-op or online because of hackers who join your room or you join their room and get all weapons and full armor because of these said hackers it really ruins the fun of unlocking and growing your EDF trooper on your own.

It was mentioned within a few hours of people having their hands on the PC version. That the game makes up to like 10 backup saves per mission or something. So you don't get stuck with broken saves anymore. Don't have to fear cheaters anymore.

I saw some hackers in EDF 4.1 but they can only cheat their character not drops. So we should be fine.

They were able to affect drops, which was the entire reason people were scared back then. It wasn't uncommon on release to get like 10k+ armor in a single mission and every weapon in game for your class.

I never saw that, but I trust you.

It never stopped taking place, actually. It was standard practice to make a backup of your save file before playing online each time.

Alright then, thank you for the advice.

I should stress that that was for 4.1. I don't know if they've changed things for 5 or left them the same yet. Still, making backups of your save can't hurt anything. Best of luck.

There has as of yet been no working cheat engine table for unlocks and armour after battle, Which is what caused the online toxicity to be so widespread before; that said, the code likely hasn't changed MUCH since then and thus it's probably still possible, especially the armour, as that's just tweaking the "how many armour pick ups have the team got" hex.

EDIT: Ergo, expect the issue to arise again, as soon as a CT gets uploaded publicly.
