Can't Find Save Location
I'm getting an error with EDF 5 that doesn't seem to be resolving. It states:

"Not found the directory for save data.

If you do not create a save data, you will be unable to save your game data.

Are you sure you want to start the game?

C:\Users\user\Documents"

I've looked in that folder as well as the "My Games" folder where the EDF 4.1 save location is and there is nothing there. I tried creating an EDF5 folder in both locations to see if that would fix the issue with no luck. Reinstalled and verified integrity already as well. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this, or could someone at least tell me their exact file location so I can try to figure out what I'm missing?

Windows Security Center > Virus & threat protection > Ransomware protection > Allow an app through Controlled folder access > Add an allowed app > select your EDF5 executable from your Steam folder

Your save location for both EDF 4.1 and EDF 5 are very similar.
Here's the path.
C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\EDF 5

I appreciate the help. Are you sure there's a space in "EDF 5"? There isn't one in the 4.1 folder.

I tried the folders with a space and no space, either way no luck. Running as administrator didn't help either.

Try running the game as administrator. For some reason, the game is having trouble creating the EDF 5 save directory (which is My Games\EDF5 -- no space). If this doesn't work, go to Documents > My Games, right click, go to properties, and uncheck the Read-Only box. Then click OK. One of those two solutions (hopefully just running EDF5 as admin since it's easier) should create the directory and all the data the next time you launch the game.

edit: Derp I just saw you said running as admin didn't help. Are you using Win 7 or 10? It definitely seems like a permissions issue in any event.

Man, I can't believe they still haven't sorted this out. People were having the same issues in EDF 4.1 as well, where it either couldn't find the save directory or would fail to create a save game. I tried to help people a couple of times in the past but always felt kind of helpless because I never had the problem myself and didn't know what really works or not. Here's a compilation of things I found in the past that may help you:

I also found this one along the way while searching for more info a little while ago, though I think it reiterates some of the others:

If you get it working again, please specify the solution so others will know too. Thanks!

If you're on Windows 10 it might be the virus protection stuff being overzealous and not allowing the .exe to access your documents folder and create the save files, to let EDF5 actually make some saves go to
