EDF 4.1 and 5 story bug?

The end scene when you cleared solo campaign says that 90% of the population has been wipe out , and EDF4.1 says it's only 10 years ago that Storm blew up the mothership. Does it mean it only took 10 years for the population to recover? So the oldest newborn would be like what, 10-year-old? Lol

Not 'like' a reboot, it IS a reboot. Devs have stated this explicitly.

I love that they do this, reboot the story every time they make a new game. Chiefly because I get so manifestly tired of “keep this on canon” “this is not canon” blah blah. Also if they did not do this, how would they have the NPC troops acting so surprised at the first sight of a giant ant (sorry species alpha). I must say this is one of my favourite parts of the dialogue and acting

[EDF; Storm 1]

Just like EDF 1 (Monster Attack) and EDF 2 (Global Defense Force) was its own universe before EDF 3 (EDF 2017) and EDF 4 (EDF 2025, otherwise known by it's re-release: EDF 4.1) rebooted them in its own separate universe: EDF 5 is the beginning of a new universe. A new cycle, which will likely end when EDF 6 somehow outdoes it in terms of enemy scale and the Aliens decide to leave Earth alone completely.

Given how in the first mission soldiers ask if the giant ants "escaped from a zoo" and remark that they might be "dinosaurs", I'm going to guess that none of them have seen an ant. Possibly none of the other creatures the other enemies are based on either, since Colonists/Frogs are said to "look just like humans". xD

I remember the beginning of one of the missions had someone referring to bees as "bird-like creatures." It's a weird universe, man.

Plot Twist: Each game isn't actually a reboot, but a similar story being told on different Earth-like planets that the aliens terraformed and colonized in which they all inevitably form an Earth Defense Force and fight back. You know, as a twisted social experiment by bored god-like aliens. Okay, so maybe that's a little too crazy even for the absurdness of EDF games, but wouldn't that be wild?

Yeah some of the item like the blacker 4.1 tank has description like :
"tank painted with soldiers from another world" so its kinda sorta a multiverse thing maybe alternate reality with same story

Thats not true at all, 2025/4.1 makes direct refference to 2017 all game.

EDF 2017 and 2025-4.1 are 1 universe. EDF 5 is unrelated in terms of story lore.
