I had SO much fun with this game and can't recommend it enough to people who are into the Metroid games.
The combat feels great, and getting better at the game feels so rewarding. The bosses were great too, though I wish one of them would've been a little tougher (The final boss, Salesman).
The platforming occasionally gets pretty tight, feeling a bit like Super Metroid in that way, and the timed sections offered good challenge without feeling stressful.
I really enjoyed the occasional gags, brief characterization of the cast, and some of the enemy designs.
I'm gonna end up gushing about this game for a while, lol

I really enjoyed this. It's a bit outside my wheelhouse, but the game is pretty beginner-friendly in that it was a huge challenge but I rarely felt completely lost or that a required action was impossible.

really solid metroidvania with a unique and good mechanic. map UI is very small tho which is a metroid crime :(

I found the core mechanics kind of unfun, but I can't not recommend it. I put it down before finishing, but for a short indie metroidvania game, it's quite polished and worth a look.

Very innovative concept and does it well. Although I will say its not a metroidvania for everyone, if its right up your alley you'll have a good time.

Solid, relatively short metroidvania; generally good design and the time mechanic is executed well.

Vision Soft Reset is a gem that blending metroidvania with time-travelling concept really well. It utilize those "checkpoints" to the fullest as save points and also warp beacons. Here's a twist: those warp remember when did you arrived, and warping back to a beacon is actually going back in time to when you're previously arrived. Thus you have to re-run from the start of the game again and again (with more knowledge and upgrades) in order to save time. And that is fun aspect of the game.

I am, after overcoming the frustration of playing this unpolished game in other aspect, still DO recommend the game. But with lots and lots of cautions.

- The controller is badly designed (and CANNOT be customized), despite it said "best enjoyed with controller". The most notably aspect of this is analog stick is completely omitted from the entire game, only D-pad available.
- Control is not tight enough for this level of demanding platforming skill. For example, the jump is not buffered, and there're lots of place where you land on the edge of the platform, results in "slip off" the platform.
- Timeline-tree navigation is totally unnaturally unnavigable, e.g., if you're at the rightmost node of the left-to-right rooted tree, pressing left might not moves you to the previous "parent" node, but jump to upper/lower node of other timeline instead. Why???
- The difficulty of the game ramp up real bad. First boss fight is too hard with the limited knowledge. (honesty, when I died to the boss like ten times in a row, there should be a system that nudge me to drop the fight and go explore and/or get more upgrades --- maybe a dialog with the NPC.)
- There're no setting for difficulty (or accessibility, like god mode). So, you're stuck with the default difficulty envisioned by the developer. If you're bad at platforming/metroidvania genre, you can't proceed/complete the game. (also if you're bad at puzzle solving, you might not be able to proceed too, although in this case you can look up walkthrough.)
- Most mechanics of the game are not well explained. Take a look at communities board, there's complain everywhere. There's doors that you have to be extremely fast in order to unlocked it before it permanently shut. The later ability is not explained at all: it just trapped you in a badly designed room that you might smashed buttons blindingly in order to "learn" the ability, but you'll learn it in a wrong way and result in unable to perform it consistently.

Normally, I wouldn't take game's price into account when recommending (or not recommending) a game. But for this one, I'd say it quite cheap to the point that if you love metroidvania genre, you should get it despite the flaws I've listed. You don't even have to finish it (either 100%, or just beat the game once at all). Just play it and witness the mind-blowing timeline manipulation this game offered is already worthwhile! (But yeah, if you like to play a game that's fair and finishable, then maybe skip it to save your sanity...)

I really wish to see this concept implemented by larger studios. Not just from an individual developer, which result in an unpolished product. (don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that this solo a project is bad, but i feel like this game has so much potential to revolutionize the metroidvania genre.)
