Crew members disappearing?

It happens to me on a regular basis. I sign contracts with various crew members, swap them when their fatigue is high and every so often after one or few events I don't have them anymore in my crew reserve. For many times already I had to participate in an event without complete team just because of that. Is it normal..? Or maybe I just get something wrong... No damn idea... Maybe there's a person with a knowledge about it... I started to assume, that contracts are just one-off deals, but all resting mechanics would be pointless in such case.

I had a similar problem: When I checked emails after a rally the game sometimes crashed. After I restarted it crew members 21 - 35 have disappeared.
My solution: I've restricted my crew to only 20 members. Since then no crew members disappeared.
Maybe you have the same problem, maybe not. Investigate the problem, find the pattern and then hopefully a solution.

Maybe that's accidental, but my crew is currently about 20-21 in numbers and for last few events no major issues in my case too. Doesn't sound like reasonable solution but as long as it works it prevents a waste of money when rare, expensive crewmembers just disappear... Good point, thank you.

Boroben is exactly correct. If you buy the perk to expand your crew, your maximum number of crew members goes from 20 to 35. However, you can only save and load 20 crew members, so those last crew members (usually financial guys, meteorologists, etc.) get lost whenever you quit the game. It's a horrible bug, and I'm surprised there isn't more discussion about it on the web.

I ended up rearranging my perks to simply not have the perk to expand my crew. But be aware that sometimes the game awards you with a free crew member; if you don't have room for them, they're completely lost and not even recruitable.

Yeah this bug is present in WRC 8 and seems to affect meteorologists and engineers when you go above the base size of 20.
It is also present in WRC 9 when you go above the base size of 10.
I emailed the developers last year and messaged on facebook with no reply.
I reported the bug is WRC 9 again emailing the developer and on facebook.
They replied on facebook saying it would be passed on but months go by and no mention of a fix or even acknowledgement of the issue.
