Myself and a few others have not been able to get FFB to work at all with Fanatec CSW wheels. Did you have to do anything tricky to get ffb to work for you or did it always work from the start? I’m assuming you had to select the preset for your wheel in the controls tab and then create a new modified version of that preset to assign any new buttons and axis?

I read that and that is strange as they appear in the list of supported peripherals !

No I didnt do any tricky thing !
I just did as you said and made a new profile and it was really a breeze setting it up.

It took a couple of hours to set up the FFB but now it feels great and pretty much like a real car with nice details.

I have the Fanatec CSW v 1.5 with CS Pedals V 2, Shifter SQ V 1,5 and Handbrake V1,5

Handbrake is connected to the pedals and Shifter is connected to the wheel base !

Kylotonn probably fix this with the first patch !

Feels really natural and detailed feedback

Ingame settings:

Max Wheel Angle: 540

Overall Force: 150

Self Aligning Torque: 40

Tyre Load: 150
....
Interessting, for me Tyre Load only makes the wheel stiff while turning so I choose
Self Aligning Torque: 75
Tyre Load: 45

Tyre Load doesn't do very much that's why I maxed it !

Too much of Self Aligning Torque is tugging the wheel too much IMO !
It also depends on how you sett the overall settings !
I don't think I am totally done with the settings, there is just minor adjustment now to make it feel perfect both on tarmac and gravel !
What Fanatec Version you have M8 ?

Using Fanatec Podium DD.
To be honest the settings are not very clear for me as they are a mixed bag out of physics anbd canned effects.
My main problem is that the FFB build up a lot of resistance while turning. Also this self centre force which brings a lot of force if stepping on the gas pedal. So I think more canned than physics effects.
-> I think because they use so much canned effects you get no real feedback if going a little bit of the street on the banks or some side bumps.

I don't think that is the canned effects you're talking about !
They are only in the vibration section of the control settings !

I really don't care if it's canned or not as long as it feels natural with good detail and immersion wise I am very happy playing WRC 8 !

It's 10 times better than WRC 7 and a million times better than DR 1 & 2 !

All my devices are connected separately via USB so I have 4 separate USB cables going into the PC. I wonder if this is somehow causing the problem? Maybe I’ll try just plugging the wheel in to see if I can at least get the FFB to work. ( normally separate USB ins is fine though on PC as it is working fine on wrc 7).

Thanks.

Yes that is a good start !

As I explained I only use 2 USB cables to my PC

USB 1. Wheel + Shifter
USB 2. Pedals + Handbrake

Thanks for sharing.
To me it was a little too stiff, also trying out with lower settings like Peter.
I also using overall lower settings.

But like you said ffb is subjective.

Personally I disagree with WRC8 being so much better than WRC7, DR or DR2 - it is different, but if I am honest I actually prefer the handling of all three over WRC8, although WRC7 and WRC8 might change upon further wheel tuning and graphics optimization.

Could also be different depending on what wheel you have !

I wont be using WRC 7 or DR 2 no more that's for sure !
