Controller/Mouse troubles

I was eager to acquire this game till I've seen the ads long time ago. I've per-ordered it without the slightest idea about the type of adventure game it might become - just because I am a graphic novels nerd and I never resist Film Noir themed stories like this.

Anyway.. my initial joy after starting the game and listening to the music vanished after I got stuck on the menu selection screen:
the mouse doesn't respond,
the keyboard doesn't respond,
the X Box 360 controller doesn't respond (although it works well in any other games like that Read Dead Redemption 2, GTA V, Witcher 3, and so on).

Although it doesn't respond to any input trials either it might be a problem with another attached gaming device (Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog & Saitek Flight Rudder Pedals) connected to the PC... but I don't want to remove them each time I want to play Blacksad, just beacuse it's embarrassing to crawl under the desk fishing for various cables and, more important, because I have to reload & remap all the controls in various Flight Simulators each time I disconnect the HOTAS.

Imho the years is almost 2020... PC hardware have evolved during the last decade, more than a dozen USB devices are attached to it at the same time and I have NEVER (!) encountered a bug (or non-supported feature ?) like that in any of my 1000+ games but a handful of very cheap ones a long time ago... not worth to mention them.

Here is just one question to answer:: is there an easy way for my to play this game on a PC soon ?
Claiming a refund would be a pity... and might turn my heart into a BLACK mass, leaving me SAD for the rest of my days, :)

I am having the same trouble, very often i loose control of the game, Neither xbox controller (bluetooth) nor mouse our keyboard will work.

Ehm... just to be clear: it doesn't work with mouse/keyboard/X Box 360 gamepad/Thrustmaster HOTAS or any other input device on my PC from the start.I just get into the first menu where I shouild press A to continue or the Options button... both are not working.

Hello,

we are currently investigating this issue and it would be good to know, if several control devices are connected at the same time to your PC.

If yes, could you please unplug them and only try with the XBox Controller or the Keyboard/Mouse connected?

Please be sure to launch the game only when additional input devices are unplugged.

I have the same problem. I was able to play the game for about 9 Hours and now he do not recognize my Gamepad anymore. All other devices are unplugged except of Mouse, Keybord and Microsoft 360 Gamepad.

@Krathius, I can see that your "investigation" is pretty much stalled for an entire year.
Is it really THAT hard to fix input settings configs to use keyboard if the game is downloaded from Steam?

Unplugging my HOTAS fixed the issue. The game detects it as a gamepad

Cant play this game with other controllers connected.. What is this, the 90's?

I had the DS4 controller connected via bluetooth and neither keyboard or controller would work. When I manually disabled bluetooth, the keyboard started working again, and then I turned the DS4 on again and it started working. I guess it has to be turned on after the game starts.

I had the same problem. I'm a keyboard and mouse gamer and the keyboard and mouse didn't work on the start screen. Then I used an XBOX controller and still nothing happened. I turned off all PC input. But that didn't help. Please tell me how I can do this?
