PS4 Controller problem?

I've played far enough with a Dualshock controller but then, after leaving the game, it won't identify my controller as a PS4 one and gives me Xbox controller settings, while locking me out of pressing any button. Is it a bug anyone's run into here as well?

Hello,

Please check if any other input device is connected at the same time. It could interfere with the setup.

If it is not that, please try the following:

1. Leave the game.
2. Switch off your controller.
3. Restart the game and check if the game takes the keyboard/mouse input.
4. Then activate your controller.

Then tell me what it does, if you are not able to play properly.

Hi I wanted to piggyback off this topic...I just got this game recently and I'm trying to get it to identify my controller as a PS4 controller but it thinks I'm using an xbox 360 controller instead.

What should I do?

I tried the above tips and it does switch when I plug it out from xbox controller scheme to keyboard/mouse controller scheme. But when I plug it back in instead of ps4 controller scheme I get xbox.

What do I do??

thank your for your feedback.

Have you restarted the game between switching the PS4 controller on and off?

Also, if it is using bluetooth, please unlink your controller and link it again, then launch the game.

Do you use any controller emulation software on your PC that could make the game thing that another controller is connected?

A bit late since I was a bit busy but your response fixed my issue. I turned off DS4 windows and everything was fixed magically. Thanks for your help.

Heya, year later here I am with the similiar problem. Steam recognizes controller as PS4, Reinstalled the controller and drivers to it, nothing helps - all button tips are for xbox controller. Is there a way to manually edit config of the game somehow to force the Dualshock buttons to be shown?

the key is what emulator you are using
win 10 is terrible with controllers unless its a microsoft aka not ps4
I love the ps4
dont use Ds4 tools use SCPtoolkit
shouldnt be a problem
as for the buttons.. that issue will always exist.
they even make removable stickers with the xbox buttons to place on the ps controller.
or you can do what I do and memorize em

or the devs COULD use a toggle.. but most wont. Toggle for display Xbox layout and Toggle for Playstation layout.

TONS of devs used to do this.. now its just.. sad..
hugs to you devs but next game..think of the PC users please
so many issues in this game that come from just porting it vs making it for the pc on its own
shoot some hotfixes out
get the qte to respond better
remove the lamer achievements for never retrying or dying if you cant fix that qte issue..
coming from working at Telltale this game wishes is was A wolf amoung us!
and its got its own charm here but feels just very anti PC user

the game should see it as an xbox controller as dualshocks arent supported
scptoolkit and it will force windows 10 to use and dual shock as a legit xbox controller.
dont see how this part is an issue..
its been this way forever..

Kinda off topic but
PLEASE add skip cutscenes and dialog if we have played the game through once
as the bugs existing on PC dont allow us to reach many achievements due to issues and running through the game 9 times without the ability to skip what we have memorized gets MIND NUMBING and leaves a terrible taste in the mouth/brain about this game.
