Which is even more of a pity that Pendulo Studios used to be known for making solid and pure point and click adventures.
Anyway will check that out thanks.
This sums it up nicely for me as well.
In a critical situation, I want to do something, that makes sense, something that gets me out of this situation. For example: use gun on wolf, smash door with axt, a stick from the floor and beat the thief.... but all I can do in this new games is pushing buttons that appear on the screen. I feel like an ape in an experiment (is he able to push buttons???)
I wonder how all the adventure-games in the past did it? Games like "Black Mirror" (the original), Syberia, Gabriel Knight, Maniac Mansion and many other all time classics. They told thrilling stories without "smashing-or-holding-button-puzzles".
I guess the time has changed and QTEs are just the cheap way to handle every situation imaginable.
Well, to all that have fun with this game, enjoy it and however this game is not for me, im greatful to the developers, cause they did an adventure-game. A genre, that is nearly dead.
Thank you!
Removing QTEs from the game would mean that they would need to add mechanics for fighting, which would cause other issues with the game, such as disrupting the flow, and possibly the story. As it stands now, the Devs remain faithful to the source material, and I've noticed quite a few nods to the comics, which is very much appreciated.
The point of the game is to investigate the case, if you think that you are going to be doing that though QTEs, then I reckon you should take a gander at the gameplay related to the investigation, it's very well done.
Besides, I see one bad design, I expect plenty more, if less obvious ones.
But let's keep it simple: I see QTE, I swipe left. Tres vite.
You're welcome.
Why not use skip buttons every time you make these annoying QTE´s in your adventure games ? Just look at this thread, potential buyers turn away and purchase elsewhere, because they find QTE´s boring and not funny at all. Furthermore some of us simply are not fast enough to get past them. A small, descrete button in the lower corner,so why not, if you sell more games that way ?
