Gold pot in center and Last icon left side.

I would have thought I would have unlocked these 2 things as I am on stage 1300+ -
Can someone please tell me what the Gold pot in the top center of the screen does and what the last icon on left side - The shield with the green leafy stuff around it - does. In addition, how do I unlock it?

I would like to know as well. I'm in the 5,000's stage wise and both are still locked
