Statue Prayers

I've found statues dedicated to All-Mer in the hidden courtyard with Butterfly and the Bunnymasks and Sylvian in the caves with Pocketcat and Cavemother. I'm sure there's one for Gro-Goroth too but what does praying at these statues do?? And what does praying to a different god other than the one whose statue you're at do?

The kind of statue isn't important, they're all shrines just like the sacrificial circles. And, if the god in question is still around or gives a damn about humanity's prayers, each prayer at a shrine or circle will give you like 1/3 of the way to a point of affinity with the god.

Beware: some gods care not for prayer, and only respond to other shows of devotion.

Gives you some affinity for the associated god. I think you can get affinity for All-Mer by praying at two circles and performing the sacrifice in front of the priests. Dunno if praying even matters for the other gods.

statues partially increase affinity but you have to pray to the correct god at each statue(pray to allmer at the hidden courtyard etc), praying to the wrong god will decrease your affinity with them
