Time keeps going even while in menus/dialogue?
I am convinced that the time still keeps going while in menus or dialogues. The other day I left the game for like half an hour in a dialogue with D'arce and then came back to a game over screen. I distinctly remember mobs stopping while I was in dialogue previously, but I can't explain a game over otherwise. Today I stayed in the menu for a good while as I was doing something else and the moment I came off it, an event triggered immediately. Is this intended? I've never seen an RPG Maker game stay unpaused while in menus or dialogue before so this seems wrong (though incredibly on-brand for this game lmao.)

That's just RPGmaker save system. Time is paused in the menu, though. So your hunger/mind won't decay. The time to save Le'Garde only passes if you're out of the menu, I'm fairly sure.

Yes, that's how it works. It even goes on while you're in the intro sequence. It's actually really annoying, imho

Time still passes in the dungeon while you're digging through your bag...

Yes but sometimes I would like to be able to read dialogue without certain people dying

That... doesn't even make sense logically. It asks about things you did potentially years before the start of the game. Very weird decision.

Honestly, I'm not sure how intentional it was. You'd have to ask orange.

I've tested this thoroughly at this point. Yes, while you're on the main section of the menu at least, things don't seem to advance at all. And you're correct, time does not seem to pass in the game in the way that the save system claims. There are 2 different clocks apparently, one hidden (the one for L'garde's life), and one visible (the regular RPGmaker timer). I tried leaving the game on for an hour in the intro cutscene and then going to L'garde. He was still alive.
