Endless Soul

So....I was curious as to what would happen if I refuse to help the new god get her girl to the heart of darkness and instead of giving me the soul she just seems displeased and boots me out of the dream.

Do I need to just go back in and say yes or is there meant to be a different way to get it (like I believe I can grab it from an empty scroll?)

Yeah, a scroll will get you the soul for sure. Not sure about refusing, though. Worth a try?

Oh no that's what I mean, I refused cause I was interested in seeing what happens and got booted out so it's like are you basically in a failstate if you didn't know about the scroll or had already exhausted all the barrels etc to find one.

Plus as far as I could tell I couldn't reenter the dream.

Well, other than getting a empty scroll, you can also aquire the souls of the new gods from the 4 playable characters if they die, for example, Cahara has the soul of the endless, and so if you killed him and used a soul stone, you would get it.

Necroing this thread myself. My current run is really good, but I have not found any Empty Scrolls, not even from Stealing from Iron Shakespeare, and I refused Nilva's request thinking it would lead to a fight for her soul. I am currently *playing* as Cahara, so I can't just kill him for the soul...is there any other means to get an Empty Scroll? I crafted four Pinecone Pigs to try to maximize item drops, but none of the enemies I've engaged against have made them drop anything yet (I cleared the cavedweller village).

I vaguely remember the ancient library has a bunch of bookshelf spots that could yield an empty scroll. Part of me wants to say there are garunteed spots for at least 1 or 2 but I can't remember exactly (though I think one of those is from a dark priest in the dream sadly).
