Cube of depths keeps killing me when trying to leave mahabre

I keep trying to go fight the god of the depths, but the cube of the depths keeps setting me on fire every time I try to leave the city. What exactly triggers this event and is there any way to prevent it on my current save? Or should I just go back to an earlier one?

Never heard of this. For what it's worth, did you get the cube from the village or from a scroll?

I think someone on reddit had a similar issue, they burst into flames trying to leave Mahabre seeing the message "The effects of the cube vanish as you head down the catacombs". It seems like it was caused by them trying to do a ritual with Nas'hrah earlier. Here is the link to the thread.

I got it from the village, I was able to walk out of mahabre before but now whenever I do it kills me.
I forget if I asked nash'rah for his hand in marriage or not, I'll try and see if thats the case on an earlier save file
